Established in 1984, Baylor Research Institute (BRI), an affiliate of Baylor Health Care System, has a network of over 3,000 board-certified physicians including approximately 250 active clinical research investigators, experienced in both drug and device studies. Serving more than 800,000 people at medical centers in Dallas, Fort Worth, Garland, Grapevine, Irving, Plano and Waxahachie, Baylor Health Care System offers a large and diverse pool of potential research participants.

Through clinical research, investigators achieve advances in medicine and bring innovative therapies to patients at Baylor Health Care System. Baylor Health Care System recruits leading physicians and scientists to enhance its scientific base and provide advanced patient therapies. Research keeps physicians on the forefront of medical knowledge. Investigators at Baylor Health Care System's medical centers publish research findings in top-tier medical journals, such as Science, The New England Journal of Medicine, Transplantation and Lancet. Baylor Health Care System also publishes Baylor University Medical Center Proceedings, a quarterly research journal detailing research and clinical activities at Baylor.
The institute staffs approximately 180 employees, including researchers, laboratory assistants and research coordinators. Michael Ramsay, M.D., serves as president of the Baylor Research Institute.
Baylor Research Institute has approximately 250 active clinical trials investigators, experienced in both drug and device studies. Our Investigators specialize in the areas of Cardiology, Bone Marrow Transplant, Dermatology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Immunology, Interventional Radiology, Metabolic Disease, OB/Neonatology, Nephrology, Neurology, Oncology, Orthopaedics, Pulmonology, Rheumatology, Solid Organ Transplants and Urology.
Baylor Research Institute employs over 60 clinical research professionals in positions including research nurse, clinical research coordinator and clinical research assistant. Over half of the research nurses and coordinators are Certified Clinical Research Coordinators. The research staff assists Baylor Health Care System investigators with coordinating and managing administrative and clinical aspects of investigational drug, device and other research trials. The research staff has experience managing Phase I through Phase IV clinical trials and is thoroughly educated in federal regulations and institutional policies.
