Southeastern Research Group, Inc., is a clinical trials management organization. We represent an alliance of private practice physicians conducting trials in multiple specialties. We offer full-service clinical trials management providing high quality services across Phases II - IV drug and device trials. Located in Tallahassee, Florida, we coordinate and manage clinical studies with well-qualified investigators both on-site and at private practice centers. We employ an experienced team of researchers dedicated to providing rapid enrollment, accurate data collection, compliance to regulatory requirements, and complete confidentiality.
Our three-fold mission is:

Founded in 1998, Southeastern Research Group, Inc. has extensive experience conducting Phase II-IV trials. We have particular experience in the areas of Urology, Endocrinology, Cardiology, and Family Practice. We pride ourselves in providing rapid enrollment and cost-efficient clinical trials. We have successfully completed trials for many of the major pharmaceutical companies worldwide.
Southeastern Research Group principal and sub-investigators include:
- Robert S. Bradford, M.D., F.A.C.S.; a board certified urologist and fellow of the American College of Surgeons who has been involved in clinical research as a principal and sub-investigator since 1998.
- David E. Burday, M.D.; a board certified urologist with extensive experience in robotic and laparoscopic surgery who has been involved in clinical research as a sub-investigator since 2006.
- Joseph L. Camps, Jr., M.D., F.A.C.S.; a board certified urologist and fellow of the American College of Surgeons who has been involved in clinical research as a principal and sub-investigator since 1995.
- J. Daniell Rackley, M.D.; a board certified urologist with extensive experience in robotic and laparoscopic surgery who has been involved in clinical research as a Principal Investigator and sub-investigator since 2006.
- James E. Renehan, M.D.; a board certified urologist with experience in robotic and laparoscopic surgery who has been involved in clinical research as a sub-investigator since 2009.
- Raleigh W. Rollins, M.D., F.A.C.S.; a board certified urologist and fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a founding member of Southeastern Research Group as a Principal Investigator and sub-investigator since 1992 to 2008.
- William P. Sawyer, M.D., F.A.C.S.; a board certified urologist and fellow of the American College of Surgeons who has been involved in clinical research as a principal and sub-investigator since 1992.
- Scott B. Sellinger, M.D., F.A.C.S.; a board certified urologist and fellow of the American College of Surgeons who has been involved in clinical research as a principal and sub-investigator since 1992.
- Jean-Paul Tran, M.D.; a board certified urologist with extensive experience in robotic and laparoscopic surgery who has been involved in clinical research as a Principal Investigator and sub-investigator since 2002.
- Thomas G. Serio, M.D.; a board certified family practitioner who has been involved in clinical research and has been a part of Southeastern Research Group since 2005 with interests in hypertension and diabetes as well as other therapeutic areas of general practices.
Our staff and investigators have been successfully conducting drug and device trials since 1985 and have a combined experience of over 80 years in the industry.
- Susan Speake, RN, Research manager, has worked in urology and research at Southeastern Urological Center from 1999-2004. She returned in 2008 and serves as Research Manager and Clinical Research Coordinator. She has over 20 years of experience as a registered nurse with supervisory/ management skills in ophthalmology, obstetrics, and public health/case management.
- Laurel Manfre, MA, CCRC, has worked in clinical research since 2001 where she has conducted studies in asthma/allergy and urology. She has worked with Southeastern Research Group, Inc. since 2007.
- Susan M. Green, Regulatory Specialist/Administrative Assistant, has a background as a professional legal assistant and medical transcriptionist. She has been with Southeastern Urological Center since 1989, and has worked in clinical research since 2000.
- Nancy Y. Manusov, MA, Research Recruitment Specialist and Clinical Coordinator Assistant has worked with Southeastern Research Group since 2009. She has clinical research experience since 2001 in family practice and urology. She also has experience in clinical management, billing, and transcription.
Southeastern Research Group is affiliated with two private practices, Southeastern Urological Center and the Office of Dr. Thomas Serio, this provides a broad range of patient demographics. We conduct studies with adults of varying ages and ethnic backgrounds. Tallahassee, as the capital of Florida, boasts two major hospitals, three universities, and a medical school. Southeastern Research Group, Southeastern Urological Center, and the Office of Dr. Thomas Serio are located within a few blocks of each other and within two miles of both hospitals.

Southeastern Research Group's offices are located in a 32,000 square-foot purpose-built facility. The on-site services include access to 30 exam rooms, laboratory facilities, and medical imaging including radiology & CT scan services. We have an attached ambulatory surgical center with surgical suites to accommodate most medical specialties including specific capabilities for urological procedures. We provide exam rooms and offices dedicated specifically to research study conduct with secured areas for study drugs, supplies, and archives.
