Hawai‘i Pacific Health is an integrated health care system and the state’s largest health care provider. As a nonprofit health care system, it is committed to providing the highest quality medical care and service to the people of Hawai‘i and the Pacific Region through its four hospitals, more than 50 outpatient clinics and service sites, and over 1,600 affiliated physicians. The system is anchored by its four hospitals: Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children, Pali Momi Medical Center, Straub Clinic & Hospital, and Wilcox Memorial Hospital. They have leading strategic initiatives in women’s health, pediatric care, cardiovascular services, cancer care and bone and joint services. Hawai‘i Pacific Health ranks among the top five percent of hospitals nationwide in the adoption of electronic health records, with system-wide implementation that allows its hospitals and physicians to offer integrated, coordinated care throughout the state.
As a nonprofit, we take our responsibility to the community seriously. Hawai‘i Pacific Health reinvests all “profits” and surplus resources back into patient care and other valuable health services. In fiscal year 2009, we provided more than $100 million for the benefit of the Hawai‘i community, including $10 million in charity and uncompensated care.
Each year, we also provide health care services and specialty care in communities where its needed; actively engage in a broad range of medical, research, education and training programs; and sponsor public health initiatives and services aimed at improving health quality outcomes.
