Via Christi Research, a department of Via Christi Hospitals Wichita, Inc., formerly PriViaSM The Research Centers of Via Christi is a dedicated research organization of the Via Christi Health System. Via Christi Research is located adjacent to Via Christi Hospital St. Francis, 929 N. St. Francis -- a 1200 bed, community-based, academically-affiliated, tertiary care center that provides a network of specialty and sub-specialty hospital care and in/out patient services. With Via Christi as the largest provider of healthcare in Kansas, Via Christi Research is poised to recruit appropriate subjects through its system network and business partners in compliance with FDA, GCP and RA/QA requirements and local IRB guidelines for pharmaceutical and medical device research.
A center of excellence for research in all phases (I-IV) of clinical drug and device trials, specializing in cardiovascular, CNS, critical care, gastroenterology/hepatology, infectious diseases, neurology, epilepsy and psychiatry. Over the past 16 years, we have conducted in excess of 260 trials and worked with over 60 corporate sponsors, with the capacity to conduct at least 50 clinical trials yearly across all areas of medicine.
Operating its own twenty-bed Phase I clinical research unit, Via Christi Research offers sponsors a prime site for inpatient drug trials. It fosters an environment of scientific inquiry for medical staff and improves patient care outcomes through research, education, and innovation. Via Christi Research offers a full-time staff of scientists, regulatory specialists, clinical nurse coordinators, pharmacists, and business specialists ready to complete any trial with quality and efficiency. Our scientists help physicians design investigator initiated protocols, provide statistical expertise, and prepare findings for publication. Our dedicated Regulatory Affairs staff provides a capable, attentive interface with the Via Christi IRB, CROs, and sponsors. Six clinical coordinators -- four with CCRC credentials -- bring a wide range of clinical research experience to each project. Our business specialists manage contracts, budgets, accounts, and cultivate principal investigators for future endeavors.
Via Christi Research is located in Wichita, Kansas with an area population of half a million. Kansas City, Oklahoma City and Tulsa are four hours by car, raising Via Christi Research's catchment area to more than four million people. We maintain a patient database and can easily contact potential subjects. We also receive referrals from community mental health clinics, the clinics at the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita, and from private practice physicians. Past trials have studied adults, children/adolescents, normal healthy volunteers, mildly symptomatic, and elderly volunteers. The local VA Hospital -- part of VISN 15 -- refers patients to Via Christi.
