A 527-bed institution located on the border of Long Island and New York City, Parker offers unique inpatient medical, sub-acute, nursing and rehabilitation programs complemented by an array of highly regarded community services.
The first facility of its kind to offer a Fellowship in Geriatric Medicine, Parker is also among the national leaders in geriatric medical education and research.

Dr. Cornelius Foley, MD
Senior Lecturer, Dr. Conn Foley is Senior Vice President for
Medical Services and Chairman of the Department of Medicine at the
Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation. Parker
is an organization recognized as a leader in the provision of
multi-level integrated services for the older adult. He has had
training in geriatric medicine and long-term care within both the
European and American health care systems. He is a Fellow of the
American College of Physicians, The American Geriatrics Society,
The Gerontological Society of America and the New York Academy of
Medicine. He is a diplomat of the Royal College of Physicians and
is a board certified internist and geriatrician. Dr. Foley is
Associate Professor of Medicine at the Albert Einstein College of
Medicine and Nerken Chair in Geriatric Medicine at the Parker
Institute. Dr. Foley has published on geriatric and long-term care
issues. He has given more than three hundred formal academic
presentations, and has spoken on radio and television on the health
care issues of the elderly. He is formally involved in the
development of policy and oversight of an evolving geriatric health
care system, which extends beyond the hospital to community and
long-term care. He has major involvement in the teaching of
geriatric medicine to fellows, residents, medical students and
health care professionals. Dr. Foley has published on topics
including aging, falls, and the education of medical students. As a
former member of the Institutional Review Board at Parker, Dr.
Foley's experience also includes the review and critique of
numerous research studies, which involve the geriatric population.
Dr. Foley has also made a significant number of presentations at
various scientific conferences to discuss approaches and challenges
to geriatric health care as well as various issues of nursing home
programs. Dr. Foley is an associate professor of medicine at the
Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation is dedicated to providing quality health care and maximizing physical function for older adults. Of its 527 beds, 357 are dedicated to patients receiving long term medical and nursing care.
Parker is renowned for its sophisticated rehabilitation programs for those recovering from surgical procedures as well as fractures, strokes, amputations, injuries and illness. Under the supervision of physiatrists, therapists and nurses administer individualized treatment plans designed to maximize function and help patients regain independence.
Parkers celebrated expertise in treating older adults is now being extended into communities through Outpatient Rehabilitation Centers, an Adult Day Health Care Center, Personal Physician Services, Dental Services, home care, an Alzheimers disease respite center and hospice programs.
Parkers medical staff is one of the largest and most highly trained of comparable facilities in the country. It includes physicians from all health disciplines. Doctors are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The 500-member Nursing Department participates in ongoing training programs to stay current on treatment modalities and health care issues related to aging.
