The Field Neurosciences Institute, Inc, (FNI) is a non-profit, charitable, educational and scientific corporation under the sponsorship of Ascension Health at St. Mary's of Michigan Medical Center Saginaw, Michigan. The mission of FNI is based on the pillars of prevention, early diagnosis, care and cure of neurological diseases. FNI provides educational programs for Physicians, nurses, allied health professionals and the public at large. Research programs include basic scientific and large multicenter clinical trials related to neurological diseases, trauma, sleep and other related diseases. Prevention programs are a key component of the Mission of FNI. FNI sponsors prevention programs aimed at the community, and are designed to help individuals practice the most effective form of medicine, and prevention.
St. Mary's of Michigan is affiliated with the Michigan Cancer Research Consortium (MCRC) CCOP, which is made up of 12 Michigan Hospitals. It is one of 50 research programs established by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) to provide patients with access to national cancer research studies while remaining in their own communities. St. Mary's of Michigan through participation in the MCRC CCOP is able to offer a wide variety of research studies including treatment and prevention trials, along with control and symptom management trials. The Field Neurosciences Institute has participated in clinical research trials since 1998. The primary research focus has been on acute stroke treatment and prevention. Other areas include brain cancer and sleep research.

The Field Neurosciences Institute is part of St. Mary's of Michigan Medical Center which is regional referral center for Neurological treatment. This affiliation allows us access to both inpatient and outpatient facilities. We have our own basic lab and collaborations with local Universities. We are located in MidMichigan with easy access via expressways and are serviced by a regional airport.
